Your fence is one of the first things people see, and once it’s up you’ll be looking at it for a long time. Here are a few simple guidelines our team shares with customers every week.
1. Start with what won’t change
Look at your roof, gutters, window frames and brickwork. A fence that picks up one of those colours almost always looks deliberate. Dark roofs pair beautifully with Monument®, Basalt® or Woodland Grey®; lighter homes suit Surfmist®, Shale Grey® or Dune®.
2. Decide whether the fence should stand out or recede
Darker, greener tones like Pale Eucalypt®, Wilderness® and Evergreen fade into gardens and make a yard feel bigger. Lighter colours reflect heat and make a statement, which is great for a crisp, modern look.
3. Think about heat and dirt
In South Australian summers, lighter colours stay noticeably cooler to touch. Mid-tones such as Riversand®, Jasper® and Gully® are forgiving with dust and red dirt.
4. Talk to your neighbour
For a shared boundary, a neighbour-friendly fence in a neutral colour keeps everyone happy. Both sides look finished.
5. See it in real life
Screens can’t show colour perfectly. Use our online colour visualiser to shortlist two or three options, then come and see the physical samples at our Burton yard.
