FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to the questions we hear most. For anything else, our team is a phone call away.

01How do we get started with a steel project?

Call us on 08 8280 6000, send an enquiry through our contact page, or drop into our Burton yard. Tell us what you’re building, roughly how big, and where it’s going. Plans, photos or a rough sketch help. We’ll talk through options and materials, then put together a free, no-obligation quote.

02How long does it take to get council approval?

It depends on your council, the type of structure and whether engineering is needed. Simple projects can be approved fairly quickly, but more complex ones take longer. We assess your project’s approval requirements up front, prepare the documentation for you and liaise with council directly to keep things moving. Ask us for a realistic timeframe for your specific project.

03Can you help with custom steel projects?

Absolutely. Our in-house fabrication team works in mild steel, aluminium and stainless steel, and we can help at every stage, from professional design drawings and prototyping through to engineering certification. If we don’t stock exactly what you need, we can make it.

04What is powder coating and why is it important for steel products?

Powder coating is a dry powder applied electrostatically and then cured under heat, so it flows and forms a protective skin that’s tougher than conventional paint. It makes steel more resistant to corrosion, chipping and scratching, and it gives a superior finish that lasts for years in Australian conditions. We have an onsite powder coating facility.

05Can I choose the colour of the powder coating for my steel product?

Yes. We use Interpon and Dulux powders in a large range of COLORBOND® colours, plus an extensive range of metallic colours, in finishes from matte to gloss. Browse our colour range online, then see physical samples in store before you decide.

06Do you provide delivery services for steel products?

Yes. We run our own crane-fitted trucks, so no forklift is needed on site, and we can usually deliver the next day. We cover greater metropolitan Adelaide, from the Barossa in the north to Goolwa in the south. For regional deliveries we can arrange transport with a local carrier.

07Do you offer a warranty on your sheds?

Our sheds are built with fully welded steel frames and premium Australian steel, designed to stand up to South Australian weather. Warranty terms depend on the shed and the materials chosen, so our team will take you through the warranty that applies to your build when we quote.
